About Edwards Lake

Edwards Lake is an Embryo Angling water at Norton Disney in Lincolnshire, a four and a half acre carp lake opened in 2023 and run on exclusive whole lake hire rather than day tickets. Around 65 carp swim here, starting at about 20lb and running to the upper thirties, with a striking share of the stock around 30lb. Hire is £640 for a three night weekend or four night midweek slot for up to four anglers, booked through Embryo. Rules are strict: barbless only and every fish over 40lb stays in the water.

Details gathered from public sources. Confirm with the venue before travelling.

The lake

A single four and a half acre water on the edge of Norton Disney, opened in 2023 as the village's first exclusive booking venue. Large double and treble swims sit on each bank, so a group of four spreads out comfortably with open water to go at. The coordinates shown are approximate to the village; the entrance is off Butt Lane.

Booking and exclusive hire

There are no day tickets. The lake is hired whole, for up to four anglers, in two fixed slots: Thursday 11am to Sunday 10am for the weekend, or Sunday 11am to Thursday 10am midweek, each at £640. Book by email through Embryo Angling and meet at the lodge at 10.30am for orientation. Night fishing is part of the format.

The stock

Roughly 65 carp with no small fish: the entry stamp is about 20lb, around half the catches come at roughly 30lb, and the biggest run into the upper thirties with numerous fish past 38lb. For a group after a realistic shot at a personal best in privacy, that stocking profile is the whole point of the venue.

Rules worth knowing

Embryo runs a zero tolerance rule book: barbless hooks only, a 10mph site speed limit, dogs on leads, and bait boats permitted on this water. Fish care is strict, with staff notified for any fish over 30lb and every carp over 40lb photographed and returned in the water at all times. The fishery provides mandatory nets, mats and slings.
