The crucian pedigree

Marsh Farm is the water that put big crucians back on the map. The society's members only Johnson's Lake produced the current ratified British record crucian at 4lb 12oz, and the day ticket lakes regularly turn up true crucians in the 3lb to 4lb class, fish most anglers never see elsewhere. Careful stock management keeps the strain pure, which is why crucian hunters travel from all over the country.

The day ticket lakes

Harris Lake is 3.5 acres with 46 swims, holding true crucians to 4lb plus, tench to 8lb, roach and rudd to 2lb, perch to 3lb and chub to 4lb. Richardson Lake goes slightly larger at 3.6 acres and 54 swims with tench to 9lb and bream to 5lb in the mix. Hill Pond is a half acre, 19 swim intimate water with crucians over 3lb and a purpose built barbecue area beside it.
