About Hammersley Pools
Hammersley Pools is a quiet, natural coarse fishery near Market Drayton, recently reopened for day ticket fishing. The spring-fed pools were dug around forty years ago on the family farm at Ashley, just over the Shropshire border. One pool is open now, with 14 well-spaced pegs and plenty of room to spread out, holding carp into double figures alongside tench, bream, roach, rudd and perch. A second pool opens for fishing next year, and the smallest of the three is kept as a breeding water. Day tickets are £7 for one rod or £10 for two, paid on the bank, with free parking and fishing seven days a week from 7am to 9pm. The entrance is off Lower Road. Contact Jen on 07870 169591 or the bailiff Jacko on 07583 123932.
