About Brasside
Brasside is Durham City Angling Club's five-water stillwater complex at Framwellgate Moor, just north of Durham city. The West Lake holds specimen carp along with tench, pike, bream and roach, the East Lake is a mixed coarse water with some bigger carp, the Canal was created with match and pole anglers in mind, and the Backwater suits juniors and newcomers with crucians, tench, roach, rudd and perch; a fifth New Pond is now stocked and fishing. Access is for DCAC members, their guests and exchange permit holders rather than casual day tickets. All hooks must be barbless, livebaiting is banned and prebaiting is prohibited to protect water quality.
