About Todber Manor Fishery
Todber Manor Fisheries is one of the south west's biggest day ticket complexes, set on a farm at Todber between Sturminster Newton and Gillingham in north Dorset, with around eleven waters split between match and pleasure lakes, a runs water and specimen carp lakes. The match side, including Hill View, Ash, Homeground, the Whitepost lakes and Firs, offers heavily stocked mixed fishing, while Big Hayes holds roughly 800 carp with more than eighty over 20lb, Little Hayes runs to 30lb and The Paddock adds Dorset catfish past 50lb. Match and pleasure lakes have been listed at around £10 a day, with the specimen lakes sold as 24 hour tickets around £30; confirm with the fishery. A large on site tackle shop and holiday cottages complete the venue.

The lakes
Around eleven waters spread across the farm. Six match and pleasure lakes carry the day trade: Hill View with 28 pegs and carp to low doubles, the 14 peg Ash, little Homeground, the two Whitepost lakes and the six peg Firs. Wadmill is the 4.5 acre runs water with 31 swims, carp to around 26lb, bream to 10lb and winter pike past 20lb. The specimen fishing happens on Big Hayes, Little Hayes, Willow Bank and The Paddock, the last of which holds the venue's catfish.
Tickets and prices
Pleasure and match lakes have been listed at about £10 for a day. Wadmill sells as a 24 hour ticket at around £25, and the specimen lakes Big Hayes, The Paddock and Willow Bank at around £30 for 24 hours, with booking and payment in advance the norm on the specimen waters and pre booking sensible everywhere in season. Prices move, so check todbermanor.co.uk or ring the tackle shop on 01258 820384 before travelling.
What to fish for
Big Hayes is the flagship: roughly 800 carp across eight acres and 18 swims, with more than eighty fish over 20lb, a best around the mid 30lbs and pike past 25lb in winter. Little Hayes gives about 700 carp from 10lb to 30lb over six acres, and Willow Bank holds a lower stock of around 250 carp to near 30lb. The Paddock is the wildcard, with catfish from 20lb to beyond 50lb over carp averaging 20lb, unusual fishing for Dorset. Figures come from published lake guides, so treat top weights as a moving target.
The tackle shop and staying over
Todber's on site tackle shop is one of the largest in the south west, stocking the major match and carp brands, and doubles as the ticket office and information desk. Eight self catering holiday cottages and a small certificated caravan site with hook ups sit on the complex, so week long fishing holidays are a big part of the venue's trade. The farm lies on the B3092 between Sturminster Newton and Gillingham, with the lakes dawn to dusk outside booked night sessions.
