Roman Lake headlines with catfish reported from 60lb to past 90lb over carp to 49lb, Plantation holds around 160 English carp from high teens to beyond 50lb, and Kiln and the Specimen Lake back them up with thirties and forties. Furnace Lake itself and Hyes give more affordable pleasure fishing over carp and silvers. The specimen waters are fished mainly as 24 and 48 hour sessions, with pleasure lake day tickets cheaper; prices are not firmly published, so confirm with the fishery on 01403 458450. A large tackle shop and fishing lodges sit on site.

Swims are first come, first served, fishing runs 7am to 9pm or dusk, and the lakeside cafe, camping and glamping make it as much a family weekend venue as a fishery.
